Mental Glitch- - Pigment Archival Print (2018)
MENTAL GLITCH
ROLE:
Creative Director and Photographer
PROJECT OVERVIEW
This diptych was made using a high-resolution scanner to assist in the creation of a modern photogram. The piece itself is supposed to discuss how mental illness can be viewed as a personal “glitch” within our brain that can affect the way we think, act, and feel.
The subjects of the piece, Carrie Fisher and Robin Williams, are both well-known actors who have gained fame from playing iconic characters. In their real lives, both deal with their own forms of mental illnesses; Bipolar Disorder and Depression respectively. Their conditions are often overlooked due to the stigma of how it is often hard to see mental illness on the outside. This piece is supposed to be a visual representation of what the mind and person feels on the inside.
