PROJECT OVERVIEW: 

Collaborated with Toronto-based Azerbajiani recording artist Zohra to visually translate the essence of her singles, Smoke of Our Memories (2021) and Severnaya Zvezda (2023), through high-quality cover art, video animations, and marketing materials optimized for social media and music streaming platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Spotify.

For Severnaya Zvezda (meaning North Star in Russian), I worked closely with the artist to visually reflect the song’s themes of resilience, divine femininity, and transformation. This song is meant for her higher self and the future woman she is becoming; she wanted the theme to embody elements of space and futurism. The final artwork incorporated celestial elements, an illustrated female figure, and a blue-dominant color palette to symbolize intuition, inspiration, and inner peace. The project also included an animated lyric video, formatted for TikTok and Instagram Reels, to enhance audience engagement.

For Smoke of Our Memories, the client had a distinct vision for the visual. She envisioned a smokey background featuring a realistic yet illustrative avatar, emphasizing a specific power stance and clothing choices to represent the song’s emotional depth. 

Through a structured design strategy process, I provided creative direction, iterative refinements, and strategic font selection to ensure the artworks and deliverables resonated with a global audience, balancing cultural authenticity with international appeal. By leveraging our shared Russian language skills, we effectively communicated nuanced artistic choices, ensuring a seamless creative process that strategically translated artistic visions into impactful visual storytelling while aligning with the artist’s narrative and market appeal.
